Umrah

Umrah Definition:

Umrah language: the visit. Religiously: It is the visit to the sacred House of God and performing the rituals of Ihram and accedence, Tawaf, Sa’ai between Al Safa and Marwa, and shaving.

Steps of performing Umrah:

After denial and coming to the sacred mosque, you have to step with the right leg and say:
بسم الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله أعوذ بالله العظيم وبوجهه الكريم وسلطانه القديم من الشيطان الرجيم اللهم افتح لي أبواب رحمتك .

And you should continue accedence till you reach the Kaaba and cross it before starting Tawaf and then head to the black stone and touch it by your right hand and kiss it if possible, and you must not hurt anyone in the crowded area by pushing them. And when touching the stone you say: بسم الله والله أكبر and in case it was impossible to kiss the stone, you can touch it by your right hand or by a stick and then kiss what touched it, and if this was also impossible you can point with your right hand to the stone and say الله أكبر

Then you continue with Tawaf so that the sacred House be on your left side during which you pray or read from Quran or remember God the Almighty.

During Tawaf you can walk quickly in the first three rounds and then walk normal in the remaining four rounds. Also during Tawaf you can catch the middle of your dress under you right shoulder and the put the ends of it on your left shoulder.

Then walk around the House seven rounds, each of which begins and ends at the black stone. And when you reach the Yamani corner you step there with your right feet and say: بسم الله والله أكبر and you don’t kiss it, and if this was not possible, you leave it and continue around the House and don’t point or say anything.

And between the Yamani Corner and the black stone you should say: : ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار

When you finish Tawaf you cover your right shoulder and put both ends of your dress on your chest and pray two times behind the shrine if possible, or else anywhere in the mosque.

And you should read in these two prayers: قل يا أيها الكافرون وقل هو الله أحد

Then if you could reach and touch the black stone.

Then you go out to Al Safa and step near to it and say: Al Safa and Marwa are God’s rituals. And head up to Al Safa if possible—not necessary up so high—till you see the Kaaba then you raise both your hands like in praying and say: : لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد يحيي ويميت وهو على كل شيء قدير لا إله إلا الله وحده أنجز وعده ونصر عبده وهزم الأحزاب then you ask God for what you want and you repeat the above words and your du’aa three times.

Then you go down and walk towards Al Marwa till you reach the first green flag and you hurry up to reach the second green flag, then you continue walking normal, this is for men. As for women, they can not rush between the two flags and should only walk in all Sa’ai. When you reach Marwa you do what you did in Al Safa, then you walk in the walking area, and rush in the rushing area seven times on and forth. And it is preferred to pray much during Sa’ai.

When Al Sa’ai is done, you have to shave your head, so your Umrah is performed.
